A web portal and a web site have been created to provide the
partners and the scientific community with information on the developments taking
place during the course of the NetConnect Project.
The web portal
http://www.netconnect-project.eu/ (Figure 1) has the aim of supporting the
NetConnect partners during the duration of the project and of informing the academic
community, regarding the objectives of the project and the results progressively achieved.
The structure of the site is organized to address modular issues, data security, ease of use,
web-based architecture and simple and comprehensive management.
The site has three main sections; the first devoted to information about the project,
the second containing a description of the project activities, results, deliverables and publications,
the third devoted to the archaeological scenarios and their information sources.
The NetConnect International Network of new Technologies in Europe for Cultural Heritage,
is a repository of relevant information relating to the application of ICT to archaeological heritage.
The web site (Figure 2) is available online at http://www.netconnect-project.eu/index.aspx.
The site is divided into four main sections: news and events, new technology, cultural heritage and
relevant publications. To date the site has received more than 5600 hits.
Two Conference Posters have been produced. One was presented at the European Italian Chapter 2007
Conference in Trento, Italy the other at Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo Archeologico 2007 in Paestum,
Italy.
